What Is Live Scan Fingerprinting?
Live Scan is a digital fingerprinting process used for authorized background checks. Your fingerprints are electronically captured and submitted through the appropriate system for processing by the California Department of Justice and, when required, other authorized agencies.

A little preparation helps us provide a smooth and efficient fingerprinting experience. Before your J&J Services appointment, please make sure you have the following ready.
Your Live Scan Form
The agency, employer, licensing board, or organization requesting your background check should provide your BCIA 8016 – Request for Live Scan Service form.
Since we bring the Live Scan equipment directly to your location, please have a suitable area prepared for setup.
We require:
A clean, sanitized, stable work surface
Approximately 4–6 feet of table space
Access to a nearby electrical outlet
Sufficient space for our technician to safely operate the equipment
For business or group appointments, additional setup considerations may apply.
